Property regimes in the case of couples outside marriage

Summary/Abstract: The matrimonial property regime is a concept exclusively attached to marriage. Nevertheless, couples outside of marriage do not live together in a condition of anomie. There are sporadic matrimonial property regimes, based on the praetorian enforcement of the civil law, in the case of free unions (cohabitation), but also organized matrimonial property regimes, similar to matrimonial property regimes, in the case of registered partnerships. The adoption of a law regarding the registered partnership represents another line of approach for the Romanian lawmaker, but also a challenge for the Romanian traditional family.
