Summary/Abstract: The history of damage to the environment is not a new situation in antiquity, and when it comes ignis fire and the negative consequences that this implies. Today, arson affects a broad heterogeneous spectrum of legal goods to protect such as the safety of persons and public and private assets goods. For this reason, in my paper, we will discuss some aspects about how the fires in Rome had a strong legal and criminal and administrative repression, they consequently brought the need for urban redevelopment and prevention; morover, will see how many of the principles that Roman law prevention continue apply.
