Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the linguistic worldview and the importance of the notion in the foreign language education and translation training. The approaches toward the linguistic worldview developed in Turkey and Russia are shortly introduced and the applicability of the approach for the foreign language education and translation training is highlighted. On the basis of the linguistic worldview notion the nomination of the objects in Turkish-Russian language pair is analysed with the appliance of the comparative method. The ‘attitudes’ of Turkish and Russian toward verbalization of the objects are described. The problems encountered by the native speakers of Turkish learning Russian as a foreign language as well as native speakers of Russian learning Turkish are described following the analysis of some examples.
