STAGE SERVICES AND AUTO TRANSPORTATION. QUALITATIVE SHIFTS IN ROMANIAN MILITARY LOGISTICS SPECIFIC TO WORLD WAR ONE

Summary/Abstract: Following the extensive research is undertaken and the writings of specialists in logistics, the authors of the present article analyzed the manner of ensuring the modern supply/resupply system of the Romanian Armed Forces and the great efforts made for its organization and endowment with transportation means of various brands purchased from various states. When the country entered the War for National Reunification, the Army’s system of providing material support necessitated special efforts made by the planning and execution agents of supply/resupply, due to the heterogeneity of the transportation means owned, our allies’ constant failure to fulfill the commitments made to Romania upon joining them in war, as well as the fact that the requirements made by the Russian armies had to be met first and foremost, their behavior being similar to that of an occupying army.
