THE DEVELOPMENT IN THE TIME AND THE CURRENT SITUATION OF THE AVAILABILITY OF FOOD SAFETY IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Summary/Abstract: In this article the author analyses the level of availability of food resources in the Republic of Moldova. The concept of food security is comprehensive that includes itself not only the analysis and dynamics of a single indicator through which we can conclude where "food insecurity" lives and what is the level of food security for the Republic of Moldova. For measuring food security, we apply a number of specific indicators that show us the level of the main pillars of food security: access, availability, use and stability. For analyzing each pillar of food security there is a group of indicators that show the level reached. The scientific methods used by the author are: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, history and logic, table and graphics. In conclusion, we have the situation that the livestock sector is the most affected by the changes in the environment in the last period of time and the lack of investments in conditions of risk and uncertainty. The higher the level of self-supply of food, the lower the level of import of the respective products in the country.
