Introduction to Kashmir Śaivism Philosophy. Fundamental Notions and Ideas.

Summary/Abstract: This article is a part of the introduction of my Ph.D. thesis entitled “The Spiritual Heart (the Self) in the Kashmir Śaivism Philosophy”. It presents and analyses the most important concepts of this philosophy, Prakaśa – Vimarśa (Light – Consciousness) and the relation between these fundamental spiritual realities and the individual consciousness in its inner evolution. Considering that only the Vedas and Vedanta are partially known in the Romanian philosophic milieu, the purpose of this text is to introduce and analyze the basic notions of the Śaiva philosophy, which are difficult to grasp, to the Romanian readership.
