Summary/Abstract: The permanent camp from Furceni marked an important step in the modernization of the Romanian army after the Union of the Romanian Principalities, taking into account the political-military context of the time. This camp had a great importance both in terms of location, number of soldiers, equipment, weapons categories and the extent of military exercises in the area. The activities carried out within this camp contributed to the development of the fighting capacity of the Romanian troops, which was demonstrated during the battles of the War of Independence of Romania in 1877-1878.
