Analysis of Foreign Experience in the Involvement of Women in STEM (USA as an Example)

Summary/Abstract: Development of digital technologies is not possible without qualified specialists in engineering and technology. At the present time many countries, including Russia, experience shortage of personnel in knowledge-base industries. One of the ways to overcome the staffing shortfall is attraction of women to STEM professions. Many foreign countries have already realized the need to increase the number of women occupied in technology, engineering, and mathematics to reduce the deficit of specialists and to increase the competitiveness in innovations. In this context it would interesting to study the experience of engaging women to STEM sector in the USA, which is one of the world leaders in addressing this issue.
