Summary/Abstract: The author’s decision to take the above subject for his paper, came from the wish to bring closer to our professionals those solutions from the Belgian law which we can claim to be modern and topical, both concerning the time the law was passed, and the relevant regulations in this matter existing in other countries. His next aim has been to show to which extent some of its regulations, especially concerned with so-called general judicial prevalence in the international private law, are acceptable for us, given the fact that in the near future a new IPL law is to be passed in the Serbian Parliament. For this reason the author’s views represent a special call to our authorities in this matter for critical considerations as to offer the best solutions in this area., having in mind the needs of our society in its coming closer to the family of the European states in the sphere of the International private law.
