Summary/Abstract: The study attempts to look at the way the mass media is being assessed in the metaphorical mirror of contemporary crime fiction. The relationships between the mass media and the other units in the chain comprised of people and institutions involved in the development of a crime are being analysed. The focus is primarily on those situations that give rise to friendly or unfriendly metaphors about the media.
