Hate speech at the football stadium

Summary/Abstract: Hate speech has its exhibitions in various social fields, however, it seems that it has its own special space at football stadiums. For that reason, in the past few decades in Europe there have been passed various laws, regulating the speech of spectators at football matches. The paper analyses the lexical exhibitions of hate speech used by football fans. The methods of analysis which have been used are socio-linguistic analysis and critical discourse analysis. The paper also looks into some of the most prominent research on the topic.
