Summary/Abstract: Review of the biographical book: “Glimpses of Two Epochs – Nestor Markov, Letters and Memoirs”. Historical-biographical monography written by Maria Lovdjieva. Exploring the life of Nestor Markov – a champion of National Liberation, a teacher, writer, scientist, lexicographer, politician and a public figure who lived in the second half of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century. His contribution in the sphere of science and culture is of great importance not only for Bulgaria but also internationally. Nestor Markov's book heritage includes 38 titles: 7 textbooks, published in 11 editions, 2 dictionaries, 5 editions. In addition, numerous articles with a natural-scientific, memorial and publicistic character, administrative-report publications and reports in the periodical press. In 1903 he was awarded the Order “Cavalier of enlightenment” by the Ministry of Education and Arts of France.
