Summary/Abstract: The analysed volume proves to be a valuable critique to the policy of the Romanian state in the past quarter of a century. Aiming to eliminate „the catastrophic causes and effects of the deliberate pauperization of the Romanian people”, the author observes the paradoxical historic path from the „limited sovereignty” that Brejnev tried to impose, to the servility and the falsehood of the seemingly democratic current discourse.
