Summary/Abstract: Romania’s entry into NATO is probably the biggest diplomatic and historic nowadays success. Romania, along with Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Slovenia joined the North Atlantic Treaty exactly a decade ago. The event marked a historic moment that propelled Romania into a strong and safe alliance and ended the buffer zone status between East and West. Becoming a NATO member, Romania became a member of a club that brings together the most important democratic values and obtained the highest security guarantees in his history.
