Summary/Abstract: Although we appear to witness a diminishment of Al Qaīda’s capacity of conducting terrorist threats, this could represent just a change in strategy of terrorist groups of „Al Qaīda inspiration”, the phenomenon of Muslim radicalization on the Internet proving that, today, anyone can commit a suicide attack. With the occcasion of the 10 year anniversary since the September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks, Osama bin Laden was extremly preocuppied with organizing attacks against the US. Bin Laden exhort his followers to recruit non-Muslims, who „are opressed in the United States”, particularly African Americans and Latinos. The elimination of Osama bin Laden from the Jihadist equation is, without any doubt, the legitimizing signal of the end of the security paradigm entitle „global terrorism of Al Qaīda inspiration”. This does not mean that the Jihadist threat will disappear but we will witness a „territorialization” of Islamic terrorism and the possible consolidation of the positions of Al Qaīda militants from Iraq and Afghanistan in North Africa, which could have a negative impact on the whole word, especially on Europe.
