Summary/Abstract: In today's European social context, freedom of opinion and expression, the social problem of religiouseducation in Romania is widely debated, not only in social and political environments, but also inacademic ones. The many pro and against attitudes highlight the importance of this issue, both for theRomanian society in general, and for the Church and the School in particular. The two institutions, theChurch and the School, are active in the social, cultural and educational space of Romania. On one hand, through the multitude of joint programs, which are carried out at the level of the two institutions, and inwhich young people are involved; and on the other hand, through the presence of a qualified and activeteaching staff in the field of religious education.Being aware that educational institutions have aconservative side, attached to the past, but also an innovative side, anchored in the present, we presentthis exploratory study that highlights the different social perspectives young students have on religiouseducation, the presence of the Church in their lives, and the ways in which these perspectives can improvethe religious educational approach, the relationship between the youth, the School and the Church, andthe ways in which they can all benefit in their social life
