Summary/Abstract: This article will briefly present the life stories of some of the lesser known people persecuted by the totalitarian communist regime in Czechoslovakia, in the latter half of the twentieth century. They were Orthodox Christian believers, some of whom ended as martyrs. There will be an attempt to make a classification of types of martyrdom during this period and some questions towards further research will be raised.
