Summary/Abstract: The grey economy and the underground market are a constant escort of the economic life of a society. They are the escort that, in the long run, is the most damaging to the productive and creative strata of the society and to the economic power of the society as a whole. Practically speaking, in all historical epochs, i.e. in all social structures and models of the political and economic organisation of a society, we can identify certain types of grey economy and underground market. Besides that they have existed in different epochs, the grey economy and underground market have undoubtedly become particular characteristics of the contemporary world, because they present global phenomena being faced by all countries in the world, albeit in different levels and in different ways.
