Summary/Abstract: Demutualization and disintermediation of stock market operations, the implementation of new technological solutions and numerous mergers, acquisitions, alliances and partnerships have led to the emergence of global stock exchange corporations and have contributed to the importance of stock exchanges as capital market institutions. New phenomena in the joint areas of economics and technology (fintech, crypto currencies, machine learning algorithms, artificial intelligence) will probably affect the further development of stock exchanges.
