Summary/Abstract: The present paper is an attempt to briefly summarize the key topics in Michal Ajvaz’s philosophical work Kosmos jako sebeutváření (The Cosmos as Self-Creation), which presents a synthesis (to date) of the author’s long-term interest in questions relating to ontology in general and the specific ontology of art works in particular. The text is based on the conviction that there is a close interconnection between the writer’s reflective and imaginative writing and his exceptional consistency. Hence the argument takes into account the context of all Ajvaz’s previous work.
