Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the connection between S. K. Neumann’s and Jaroslav Seifert’s poetics. First, we briefly remind both inner and outer relations of these two authors, then we proceed to the level of versification. Our analysis of an ad hoc compiled corpus (Almanac of the Year 1914, Březina, Karásek, Neumann, Seifert, Sova, Theer) supports the assumptions of Jonathan Bolton and Miroslav Červenka. Furthermore it reveals the association between the presence/absence of stanza structures and heterogenity/homogenity of the number of syllables in particular lines and indicates the possibility of using the syllable count and its dispersion in stylometry.
