Summary/Abstract: The paper performs novel approach to the systems archetypes considering logic layers of innovativeness’ factor system dysfunction and in linkage of risk in procurement function in pharmaceutical sector. The article illustrates potential application of the archetype of innovativeness’ factors system based on an example of relationship developing with suppliers by procurement function in pharmaceutical companies. The Systems Archetypes theory omits human factor in explanation of dynamics of systems. The research results of innovativeness’ factors system are base for conclusions stating that risk level acceptance and trust in relations between a supplier and a buyer are critical factors affecting innovativeness. Pharmaceutical companies adapt their strategies in response to business pressure in forthcoming decades. They are enforce to adjust their innovation strategies while considering cost reduction and risk minimizing at the same time. Their choice of strategy to adopt in response to market pressure will define long term relationship with their suppliers and will affect their future innovations capabilities.
