Summary/Abstract: In this article the subject matter is St. Joan Rilski's healing activity which is based on the orthodoxal laws of the origin of the world and humans from God. Contrary to the pagan magica of then's medicine, the orthodox church preaches the healing powers of God. This view is implemented in St. Joan Rilski's curing activity - Jesus Christ is the only and great healer - "Magnus Medicus", who had come to this world to find the human race sick and cure it. Because of his righteous life, the hermit is given the gift of a soul saver and a healer of human souls. With the aid of the Holy Spirit, he takes care of the human souls, so they could achieve an infinite, complete and happy being in the Kingdom of Heaven. Along with spiritual healing, he also applies a real approach based on his practical knowledge and skills, acquired during his anchorite life. This complex approach is aimed at the wholeness of the human identity which is called upon perpetual improvement and godlikeness.
