Summary/Abstract: It was assumed that a method in the science of safety should integrally show a research form of reaching knowledge and its conceptual presentation. It should pave the roads that can lead to solving problems. It should allow the competent conducting of discourse upon security issues. It is assumed that the development of safety science requires searching for appropriate methods. In the search for adequate methods one should consider the complexity of safety and its constituent phenomena. One needs to sharpen methodological awareness, since each method has limitations in its structure. They cause the method to recognize the reality of security inappropriately and do not allow access to its full picture. Therefore, to adequately describe and explain the phenomenon of safety one must take into account senses, meanings and values that intentionally and generatively accompany the acting researcher. The behavior of the researcher in the security situation must be examined, taking into account, • subjectively conditioned, mental context accompanying the study; • the regulatory effect of cultural norms and directives of action, respected in the given community. In the article, the model for research methodology for the science of safety was recommended. This is understood as a theoretical concept of defining the subject and research problems and, methods of obtaining and processing information. It defines the approach that allows errors to be avoided and the collecting of reliable data that give ground to evaluate the studied reality and to formulate conclusions on their basis as well as practical directives that serve the development.
