Summary/Abstract: Knowledge management is a strategy and also an instrument that schools are able to use in order to improve their educational, preventive and protective securityoriented efforts. The article features the importance of knowledge management in ventures connected with forming efficient teams as part of school security system that base their efforts on sociocultural capital of security. The processes and factors that determine the development of the social capital of security have been considered and its importance for effective group learning and cooperation has been emphasized. The authors suggest a methodical approach connected with group learning aiming at creating effective practices adequate to the circumstances of a menacing situation. Based on these suggestions, the concept of school security system has been presented conceiving its functional and theoretical aspects.
