Summary/Abstract: Human resources are one of the most important resources of every enterprise. Therefore, adequate motivation system is an important issue related to human resources management. Motivation function plays a key role in achieving company’s objectives. In case of family business, there is also the issue of fair motivation of employees who are family members and those who are not. To make the company to perform well, all employees should be able to cooperate and agree to achieve particular objectives. This is possible only in case of adequate motivation. Therefore, the main goal of this article is to identify and assess motivators and an analysis of motivation system in the context of family businesses in small and medium-sized enterprises. In the further section of this elaboration, results of empirical research carried out in scope of these issues have been presented.
