Summary/Abstract: A family business is a unit that faces challenges such as family interests, business objectives and property itself, to align them and to be successful in their development in the market, being the main engine of the economy, facing high mortality rates of the business and job creation. The objective of this article is to make an administrative diagnosis of the company Buergo, family business dedicated to chocolate, located in the municipality of Teapa in the state of Tabasco, to know its administration and operation framed within a family business. An exploratory descriptive investigation was carried out, using secondary sources and data provided by the informants through an interactive process between the company’s actors and the researcher, as well as the application of interviews, document review and participants observations. The results shows the causes and effects of the administrative problems and the proposals of alternative solutions, demonstrating the theoretical assumption, with the implementation of a self-diagnosis system, providing the entrepreneur with a vision of its operation, and the detections of weak areas for propose improvement strategies in their management.
