Summary/Abstract: The family business emerges as a project of the founder for family support, over the years continues the next generation and so you can achieve your objects and maintain a strong position in the market, needs to be attentive to all changes, keep your entrepreneurial spirit, Formulating strategies to put them into practice as well as supervise, make decisions according to their income and above all have trained staff to meet the demands of customers. The objective was to analyze the characteristics related to the permanence of a family business over 65 whose activity is the refreshment and the cause of its success in the market. We used the case study and the observation and the questionnaire as well as interviews both the owner and the staff, was with a qualitative approach and descriptive scope. Finding that the company has its processes defined in terms of time optimization and it is concluded that because it is part of a tourist attraction such as the visit to the cathedral of the city, has clientele captive of the place as are parishioners, local visitors And foreigners, having as a success factor the location (opposite the cathedral and next to a park). However, the location is abused and the image of the business is not important.
