Summary/Abstract: Under the conditions of the modern market, innovation is one of the key factors of the competitiveness of business entities, including farms. Innovations in agriculture concern introduction of new production techniques, new plant varieties and breeds, methods of fertilization and protection of plants, reorganization of production, lease of land as well as ecology and equipment in households. Their introduction contributes to many benefits, including increased use of resources, lower costs and increased profitability. The conducted research indicates that the main factor limiting the introduction of innovations by the surveyed farmers was the financial factors related to the high cost of innovative activity, the lack of own funds and difficulties in obtaining external sources of financing. The major problem identified by the respondents was too high a risk of implementing innovation.
