„SELECTION SELECTED FROM THE BOOKS OF ST. JOHN LESTWICHNIK ”. TEXTOLOGICAL NOTES

Summary/Abstract: The only known to the present moment duplicate of Hзборъ избранъ ѡт книгъ Іоанна Лѣствичника, includes selected texts from different chapters of the Ladder and the Sermon to the Shepherd. At the present stage was found out that it was compiled during Simeon’s epoch on the basis of the already done Old Preslav Translation. In the present research the text is published on the basis of the correspondences from the books of St. John of Sinai. The check of the existing proposition for its origin is accomplished by indicating and analyzing the differences when reading the two variants of the Old Preslav Translation of the Ladder. The hermeneutic and systematic evaluation of the chosen texts points out the problems essential for the throwing light on the textological history of the Selection.
