Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is an attempt to estimate the effect of socio-occupational status and social exclusion on the contact-rate and cooperation-rate at field research. The analysis compares the effect of these determinants by a simple comparison of intensity indices and uses a matched samples method to show the difference between the cross-sectional and the counterfactual approach. The basis for the assessment was the results of a survey conducted in 2013 under the Educational Conditions Decisions project. The results show that social exclusion stimulates the availability of research units, while lower socio-occupational status deepens the exclusion effect, but does not significantly affect willingness to cooperate.
