Location of the Informational Decoupling Point in the Supply Chains

Summary/Abstract: The paper is devoted to identifying the importance of the information decoupling point and the best indication of its location in the supply chain. It has been shown that this point is the place and the moment of conversion of reasons for decision-making during the process of supply chain management. In upstream of the supply chain decisions are implicated from the producer logic, downstream – from the consumer logic. It was found that in practice there are three types of information decoupling points: arising from the product structure, arising from the supply chain configuration and the classic point. In the final part of the study formulated the supposition that the profit pool mapping is a useful method for optimizing the location of information decoupling points.
