THE APPLICATION OF GREEN ECONOMY SOLUTIONS IN THE TRADITIONAL INDUSTRIES ON THE EXAMPLE OF CONVENTIONAL POWER INDUSTRY (SILESIA VOIVODESHIP)

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of using green economy solutions in traditional industries, including conventional power industry. The reflections included in the paper focus on the search and approximation of mutual interactions between the green economy and the traditional industries sectors. The author takes a critical look at the “green energy” identified with renewable energy sources as well as polemics with a stance that only emphasizes the harmfulness of the conventional energy sector. The empirical part of the article is based on the case study of TAURON Wytwarzanie Spółka Akcyjna − Jaworzno III Power Plant in Jaworzno. It examines the plant application of proecological solutions in the conventional energy sector, as well as its involvement in activities connected with the green economy. The main assumption of the article, around which the author’s reflections focused, is the thesis about the existence of mutual and complex interactions between the traditional industries and the green economy.
