Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyze macroeconomic factors affecting the scale and dynamics of bankruptcy of enterprises in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship in the years 2002–2015. The phenomenon of bankruptcy is closely related to the macroeconomic conditions in which economic agents arise and function. The following macroeconomic parameters can be used as determinants of bankruptcy: number of companies registered in the REGON system, GDP growth rate, unemployment rate, inflation rate, etc. As the explanatory variable used in the study was the number of declared bankruptcies of enterprises in Poland in a given year. The methods used in the study are the literature analysis of the subject matter, legal regulations concerning the functioning of bankruptcy in Poland and econometric analysis of macroeconomic factors influencing the bankruptcy of enterprises in Poland.
