Safety and Fire Protection in Investment Policy of Local Governments of Krzeszowice and Zabierzów in Period 2011–2015

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the functioning and funding of public safety and fire protection in two local governments, Krzeszowice and Zabierzów. The investments of both municipalities in this area, alongside the improvement of the equipment of the units functioning there. They also lead to improvements in the technical infrastructure related to the performance of their tasks at the local government level, which also serves other social purposes, in particular the integration of local communities. The article will show the expenditure of local governments on these tasks and the projects related to fire safety and protection managed by them. The aim of the article was achieved by accessing the municipal reporting documents of their investments in 2011-2015, the statistical data available within the Local Data Bank and grants by the marshal’s office in Cracow for local governments. The results of the analyzes also allowed to present the final conclusions concerning the investment activity of both municipalities in the area of public security and fire protection.
