Summary/Abstract: The exploitation of the historical allegory is pursued in Doina Ruști’s novel, Zogru, by recalibrating historical fiction as an argument for the deconstruction of certain local symbols, traditionally (dis)credited, as well as by re-writing history as an ensemble of identity-charged fragments, vertically and horizontally placed on the axis of time.
