Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to diagnose a state-of-art of human resource management practices supporting employability among physicians. The theoretical part of the paper discusses the meaning of knowledge within the healthcare sector. Furthermore, it is explained why innovativeness is the determinant of physicians employability. In the empirical part concerned empirical research carried out among a group of hundred physicians in two clinical hospitals were presented. Respondents valued highly practices which encouraged them to develop their knowledge and share it with others. At the same time practices connected with motivational system oriented towards innovation and recruiting practices focused on such the features as creativity, openness for change and risk taking were valued low. The results stimulate to continue the studies in reference to other types of hospitals and various groups of medical personnel.
