DIVERSIFICATION OF THE DYNAMICS OF LABOR PRODUCTIVITY CHANGES IN AGRICULTURE IN EU COUNTRIES BASED ON ECONOMIC ACCOUNTS FOR AGRICULTURE (EAA)

Summary/Abstract: Significant diversification of labor productivity in EU countries puts newcomers to the EU after 2004 at a disadvantage. This problem is presented in a dynamic approach. The presented analytical approach to this problem has been illustrated empirically on the basis of Economic Accounts for Agriculture (EAA). The analysis period covers the years 1998-2016. The research shows that despite the continuing high diversity of labor productivity, favorable changes in the analyzed period are observed. The change in the dynamics of labor productivity was affected to a greater extent by the change in the dynamics of gross value added, than changes in labor inputs in agriculture, both in real and nominal terms. The EU-13 countries showed a greater dynamic of changes in both labor productivity, as well as in gross value added and employment. The price factor affecting labor productivity was neutral for both studied groups of countries with little favorable impact on EU-13 countries.
