Summary/Abstract: National intellectual capital (NIC) is an important determinant of the country’s ability to create wealth of economy, development and building a competitive advantage. advantage in knowledge-based economies. It determines the need for standardized tools that will allow not only to measure NIC, but also comparisions between countries. However, the measurement is a complex process. Currently proposed solutions do not have general application. This requires futher reserch on the NIC measurement. The solution of this problem would be the invention of such a mesurement model, which settles three basic areas: the conceptual model, the catalogue of indicators identifying and describing the individual components, and analytical formula of the model. The aim of the paper is to present selected approaches to measure NIC and limitations associated with the measurement.
