Summary/Abstract: The article demonstrates the problem of utopia in the context of the consumerism. The basis for presented considerations is the characterization of new consumer space by Anne Friedberg. Key issues are the primacy of visuality and its crossing and the relationships between the cinema and the specificity of new shopping environments. A novel Days by James Lovegrove serves as illustration for this theoretical analysis.
