Summary/Abstract: Globalization has changed the paradigms in which organizations operate, the isolated development of the company not allowed to grow efficiently, so they need to seek tools to jointly develop organizations in the region, to increase the competitiveness of the area and the lifetime of the company. The effective resolution of problems arising between the actors of trade relations allow them to be more durable and effective, one of the tools to achieve this goal is mediation. The objective of this research was to analyze how decisions about the commercial disputes in SMEs are taken. To meet this objective a qualitative methodology was used in addition to techniques such as interviews, observation and document analysis. Result indicates that ADR within the organization are not used due to ignorance of the decision makers. The problem were solved using judicial decisions, which generated in most of the cases the loss of the commercial relationship, so the use of consensual dispute resolution methods in the area will generate harmonic, peaceful and friendly relations that would help growth and regional development.
