Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses changes of the liberal discourse in the context of current political divisions in Poland. The left-liberal narrative (understood as a structure of discourse and taking form of an evaluative, causal and historically situated description of events and their participants) on systemic transformation, its ideological sources and social outcomes is here the main subject of research. The analysis is focused on the journalism of two leading left-liberal authors: Grzegorz Sroczyński and Rafał Woś. On the basis of their articles in the press and Internet, books and radio broadcasts from 2013–2018 the main structures of the new left-liberal narrative were distinguished which concern i.a. settling accounts with (neo)liberals, embracing the people and the generation gap impinging the evaluation of the transition. The communicative effectiveness, originality and discursive identity of the narrative formulated by Sroczyński and Woś is also discussed and questioned in this paper.
