Summary/Abstract: A cooperation of Germany with the Soviet Union in the period before Adolph Hitler came to power, and especially its military aspect, still enjoys keen interest of Polish historians. Unfortunately, they base their study almost solely on the preserved documents of the Second Department of Polish General Staff and publications in Polish and English, without using accessible German and Russian archival materials or even published source material. This resulted in some myths on cooperation between the Reichswehr and Red Army being restated and preserved. The purpose of the present study is to rectify various persisting errors of the Polish literature on the subject on the basis of materials collected in German archives, complemented by the information from Germanand Russian-language publications and three publications of documents from Russian archives.
