Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to presentAurel C. Popovici’s nationalist conception in its relevance to a conservative politicalphilosophy which maintains “the folk’s needs” and the radical criticism of democracyunderstood exclusively in its egalitarian, cosmopolitan and demagogic dimension. Itpoints out that Popovici’s nationalism is the origin of his entire political system offederalization of the Habsburg Empire.
