Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the presentation of the assumptions of an intercultural approach based on the example of the CICA conference. The presented text reviews the subject literature – intercultural skills – their assumptions, procedures and meanings. Practical examples of using this approach are also given. The first part of the article describes the report and the working definition of intercultural competences and presents an intercultural approach based on the works of Bennet, Deardorff and Heyward. Based on the illustrated intercultural competence framework, the criteria for intercultural competences (ICC) are set out, which must be met when creating an environment that supports their development. Examples and clear criteria may be helpful in the creation of further social events, conferences or training, because only the real application of the ICC assumptions supports intercultural dialogue.
