Summary/Abstract: The paper offer slexicalization patterns in Slovak colour naming on the basis of empirical date from EOSS project (Evolution of Semantic Systems, 2011 – 2014, Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, Nijmegen). On the background of earlier system of categories, we find word-formation, other grammatical (eg. syntactic) and semantic (eg. metonymy) pattern sparticipating in the creation of Slovak colou rnames in the structure of contemporary Slovak language. For all these patterns, we use the term lexicalization pattern that is involved in creating different semantic categories. Not all lexicalization patterns and semantic categories are equally productive in dividing the colour spectrum, therefore we focus on their productivity, as well as on dominant and peripheral types of meanings that have cultural reasons.
