Summary/Abstract: Christianity is a religion of the whole man, thus it is not just about reason, but about heart, trust, and compassion as well. The Father’s tenderness and mercy fully manifested themselves in Jesus Christ. He is God’s tenderness incarnate. His Mother takes part in His salvific mystery. Mary’s motherly warmth inspires a revolution of love in the Church, begun by Her Son. Where the Mother is, tenderness is too. By looking at Her, we discover the tenderest image of the Church, and we believe in the revolutionary power of tenderness and love. Thus we can talk about Marian shades of Christian cordiality. The present article discusses this issue according to Pope Francis, who devotes a lot of attention to this aspect in his teaching on Mary. The first chapter characterizes Mary’s cordial companionship with Jesus and all encountered neighbors during His salvific mysteries. The second chapter focuses on Mary’s qualities as a model in order to demonstrate her encouragement for us to follow the path of Christian cordiality. The third chapter deals with Her maternal concern for us, which requires our filial trust.
