Translation as Negotiation: Fidelity and Loss

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the issues related to the negotiation process in translation in the context of teaching through a translation simulation project. The objective of this research is to analyze, from the perspective of translation studies, the two concepts of loyalty and translation loss with respect to the negotiation and intercultural communication. This discussion is supported by the Interpretive Theory of Translation applied during the teaching of translation in addition to a simulation experiment of a translation project.
