Summary/Abstract: This paper presents enhanced teaching methods towards new translation careers in the era of electronic communications. For example, using the information and communication technology (ICT), working with automatic terminology software, as well as developing managerial skills. The discussion is supported by experiences from the Faculty of Applied Languages, French University in Egypt, which provides the Egyptian workforce market with competent Arabic, French, and English trilingual translators in various specialized fields. The paper also compares the required student skills in a challenging translation career throughout the past, the present and the future. Finally, the paper concludes with some future perspectives.
