Summary/Abstract: Although the general culture is acquired in the family and largely in the school, it is formed also under the influences of the environment. The cultural and public activity of the school is the area of linking school with the family and the community, and in these partnerships the formal, school form of communication is complemented by the informal, external form. Music lesson, though affirming listening to (art) music, should be oriented to various activities and projects that would encourage listening to music and knowing musical works. As an example of good practice of introducing pupils to art music and other genres, the author will analyze the project Musical Wednesday / Musical Theorem. The cycle of music educational concerts is the possibility for pupils to experience music in person, directly and meet the performers and composers. School and the extracurricular environment, in that way affect the level of pupil’s cultural-artistic identity.
